On Sunday, October 6th, during the main Holy Mass, Bishop Mons. Stanislav Přibyl administered the sacrament of confirmation to 19 confirmands. It was also the first visit of the bishop to our parish. The confirmands, under the guidance of Father Štěpán, had been preparing for this sacrament for two years. Before the Mass, all the confirmands met with Bishop Stanislav at the rectory, where they were introduced to him.

The festive Holy Mass followed. Bishop was welcomed by Father Štěpán, who expressed, among other things, his joy at the number of altar servers in his opening greeting. We all then felt the beauty and depth of the liturgy, the deep and yet human sermon of the bishop about relationships and a reminder of our confirmation and our confirmation patrons. As a thank you after the Mass, the bishop received gifts from the confirmed, the parish, and also the unusual fruits of an art competition for children and youth on the theme Bishop at Work. This was followed by a festive agape in the lobby of the entire rectory.

The art competition lasted more than a month, and all the works traveled to Litoměřice after the exhibition and evaluation. The first place in the art competition Bishop at Work was won by Gabriela Havelková for her portrait of the bishop. Fifteen children will be awarded a diploma, a book, and a candle this Sunday, October 20th. The categories for the youngest, children aged 8–11, and also the oldest children were evaluated. Additionally, a special category for sculptures was evaluated alongside the images. A Special Award from the Dean was also given.
