On Sunday, October 6th, during the main mass, Bishop Mons. Stanislav Přibyl administered the sacrament of confirmation to 19 confirmands. It was also the first visit of the bishop to our parish. The confirmands had been preparing for this sacrament for two years under the guidance of Father Štěpán. Before the mass, all the confirmands met with Bishop Stanislav at the rectory, where they were introduced to him.

A festive mass followed. The bishop was welcomed by Father Štěpán and expressed, among other things, his joy over the number of altar servers in his opening greeting. We all then experienced the beauty and depth of the liturgy, the deep yet human sermon by the bishop on relationships, and a reminder of our confirmation and our confirmation saints. As a thank you after the mass, the bishop received gifts from the confirmed, the parish, and also unique fruits from the art competition for children and youth themed “Bishop at Work.” A festive agapé followed in the spaces throughout the rectory's ground floor.

The art competition took place for over a month, and all works traveled to Litoměřice after the exhibition and evaluation. Gabriela Havelková won first place in the art competition “Bishop at Work” for her portrait of the bishop. Fifteen children will be awarded a diploma, a book, and a candle this Sunday, October 20th. Categories for the youngest, children aged 8–11, and the oldest children were evaluated. In addition to the pictures, a category for sculptures was also evaluated separately. A Special Prize from the Dean was also awarded.
